#35 - Through the eyes of a child

Look, see, watch, and learn As your candle continues to burn. The shorter it gets, the longer the shadows, And only darkness once the wind blows. Look at the things all around And try to find the beauty yet unfound. Look at all things, loud or mild And remember to look Through the eyes of a child. See past the look of things, And see the depth that it brings. See the joy and wonder you feel inside, When you still see things Through the eyes of a child. Watch the events carefully as they unfold, And watch for the stories left untold. Break through the bullshit that will be piled, With the curiosity shining out Through the eyes of a child. And finally, learn the ways in which the world works, For knowing the rules of the game has its perks. But remember the rules come from the things others tried, And write your own as you see them Through the eyes of a child. The key is to remember Who you were when you were younger. Remember to sift through the fog and break through the noise The same way you once inquiringly broke open your toys. Remember to work as you once did play, And remember how it felt to have fun throughout the day. Remember the joys of learning to run and climb, And of laughing, just because, all the time. Remember to sit still and yet run wild, And remember that there is much to still learn from your inner child.
